Q: What is covered under AAA Plus RV?
AAA Plus RV is an optional benefit which when added to the AAA Plus Rider, extends present ERS and AAA Plus benefits to include motor homes, pickup trucks with campers, travel trailers, motorcycles, various pull-behind trailers and golf carts. (exclusions apply, see FAQ "Are there any exclusions for trailer coverage?" for details). Members must be a AAA Plus Member to be eligible to add AAA Plus RV coverage. The AAA Plus RV Membership simply extends emergency road services to recreational vehicles.
Q: Can you be more specific about the coverage for Plus RV?

Q: What is covered under AAA Premier RV?
AAA Premier RV extends present AAA Premier benefits to include motor homes, pickup trucks with campers, travel trailers, motorcycles and various pull-behind trailers (exclusions apply, see FAQ "Are there any exclusions for trailer coverage?" for details). Members must be a AAA Premier Member to be eligible to add AAA Premier RV coverage. AAA Premier RV extends emergency road services to recreational vehicles. All Premier benefits apply to RV including the 200-mile tow.
Q: Can you be more specific about the coverage for Premier RV?
AAA Premier RV covers AAA Members for one tow up to 200 miles of towing and up to 100 miles on any remaining service calls. It also covers changing of a flat tire with the mounted spare, a sufficient amount of fuel delivered to enable AAA Members to reach the nearest service station, reimbursement up to $150 in parts and labor for locksmith service, a second truck and operator for up to one hour to assist at the scene in complicated extrication cases. Premier RV Members receive increased Car Travel Interruption benefits up to $1,500, the one-day Hertz complimentary rental car (with breakdown) and all other Premier benefits including the 200-mile tow. Certain restrictions apply.
Q: What are Plus RV and Premier RV Vehicle Service Limits?
Plus RV and Premier RV towing, extrication and tire service is limited to $500 per eligible service call and $1,000 per household per membership year. These dollar limits are only applicable to service provided to Plus RV and Premier RV vehicles as described in the Member Handbook. Visit AAA.com/MemberHandbook for the vehicle types affected. Members will be responsible to pay the service provider directly for all other costs of service above these dollar limits at the time service is provided.
Q: Why do I have to be a Plus or Premier Member to add RV coverage?
AAA has adopted the AAA National program for AAA Plus RV & Premier RV. Plus/Premier RV Memberships expand AAA Member's towing coverage from 5 miles to up to 200 miles and provides free fuel delivery to enable their RV to the nearest service station.
Q: Are extended Plus or Premier RV benefits available to use immediately?
No. There is a three (3) day waiting period for AAA Members to be eligible to receive the enhanced or extended Plus RV benefits from time the Plus RV plan is purchased. Keep in mind that the 3 Day Waiting Period only applies to ERS benefits. Other non-ERS related enhanced benefits are effective immediately.
Q: What does "family" coverage mean?
The AAA Plus RV & Premier RV programs require that a primary Member and all associates must upgrade to AAA Plus or Premier if any one of the Members on the Membership desires to do so. Then, when AAA RV coverage is purchased, the primary Member and all associates (“family”) are covered by the AAA Plus RV or Premier RV Membership for one low rate.
Q: What types of trailers are covered?
Only non-commercial, personal use trailers: boat, horse, utility, ATV, motorcycle, personal watercraft and snowmobile trailers.
Q: What else do I need to know about trailer coverage?
Trailers must be for personal use only and licensed and registered. All loads on trailers must be properly secured. Debris on trailers should be covered. Trailer coverage is provided as an emergency road service.; we are not a towing service (i.e. we will not drag a trailer out of someone's backyard with dry-rotted tires).
Q: Are there any exclusions for trailer coverage?
Cannot exceed trailer load maximum weight recommended by manufacturer. No livestock (animals must be unloaded prior to service technician arrival). No tractor trailers. No trailers used for commercial purposes. If service is unavailable (due to size, weather, location, etc.) the Member has the option to seeks their own service and submit receipts for reimbursement consideration.
Q: Can a Member add RV coverage if they only have a trailer and no RV?
Absolutely! Trailers are priced the same way as RV - by length.
Q: Does the 3-day wait period apply?
Yes, trailer coverage falls under RV; therefore, all RV rules apply. If during the 3-day wait period, ERS is needed, a service technician will be dispatched on a cash (commercial rates) basis. Members are not eligible for reimbursement during the 3-day wait period.
Q: How many entitlements would a Member be charged if the truck pulling the boat trailer becomes disabled and AAA removes both the truck and trailer from the side of the road?
Service on both the passenger vehicle and trailer is serviced under 1 entitlement, even if two service trucks and 2 service technicians are dispatched (Plus/Premier and Plus RV/Premier RV entitles the Member to 2 trucks/2 service technicians, for up to 1 hour on scene). If the trailer service requires additional technicians/trucks on scene above the initial dispatch of 2 trucks/2 service technicians, the costs of the additional truck/service technician is at the Member's expense.
Q: Does the trailer have to be attached to the RV and/or passenger vehicle to be eligible? An example, a Member has a trailer at home and wants to hook it up to the car for a trip...but discover it has a flat tire. Will AAA service the trailer without it being attached to a car and/or RV?
AAA would change a tire on a car at a home, and the same applies here. For example, if a Member plans to go camping on a weekend and sees that the trailer has a flat tire, the trailer does not have to be hooked up to the truck to get the tire changed.
