Road trips are ideal for youngsters, but occupying them for hours inside a vehicle can be a challenge. To make the trip enjoyable for everyone, let kids help "run" the trip. They can help choose the route, educate themselves on the destination by reading the TourBook® guide, select side trips and attractions and, when old enough, help navigate. Kids also might enjoy charting your progress on their own map, marking fun side trips and milestones.
Many AAA clubs sell a wide variety of children's travel activity books packed with enough entertaining and education games, puzzles and activities to keep the kids busy for miles. Your children will discover that half the fun, really, is in getting there.
Special-Needs Travel Assistance
Accessibility is an important issue for travelers with disabilities. AAA TourBook® guides list accessibility features such as wheelchair access and equipment for the hearing impaired for all lodgings and restaurants. In addition, AAA's Barrier-Free Travel guides give more detailed information for theme parks, shopping center, medical resources and points of interest.
